Information Technology & Innovation Foundation recently published insight co-authored by Peter Fox-Penner, Professor of Practice. Peter’s study focuses on the goal of rebuilding the nation’s manufacturing sector and the uncertainty around climate change and policies to balance these two issues. The authors explore the ways stakeholders and industries can work together to integrate a successful manufacturing and climate strategy.

“This moment of challenge is also a moment of opportunity. History teaches that transformations in the core technologies and business models of major industries can radically alter the international competitive positions of companies, regions, and nations.”

The authors argue that by adopting an integrated strategy that features policies targeting specific industries that have high potential for both emissions reduction and high-quality job growth, the United States can advance its global leadership, resulting in a stronger economy and manufacturing sector while also making progress in addressing climate change.
