Language of Business: Using Performing Arts to Help Individuals on the Autism Spectrum

The performing arts can be an incredibly useful tool in helping individuals on the autism spectrum cope with social anxiety or social awkwardness. In this episode of Language of Business, hear from innovators in this space like Carol Feldman-Bass, creator of Needham-based Social Dynamix, a program that uses improvisation, psychodrama, and creative play to develop effective social communications; and Pam Ferro and Don Lambert, cofounders of the Spectrum Empowerment Project in Fall River, who marry a theater troupe with meaningful employment for those with autism. And get a look inside Lesley University’s drama therapy program with faculty member Ed Schreiber, who teaches psychodrama, along with administrators and current graduate students.
