The Unintended Consequences of Digital Health Innovation

Professors Meizi Zhou and Gordon Burtch will discuss their study of how the adoption of telehealth technology affects competition between healthcare providers in urban and rural areas.  While rural patients do appear to benefit, as they take advantage of more telehealth services as they become more broadly available, rural health care providers suffer financially, with potentially dire consequences in the long term.  Professor Avi Seidman will help lead this fascinating discussion into some unintended consequences of innovation!
