WJAR 10 recently interviewed featuring Greg Stoller, Master Lecturer of Strategy and Innovation, discussing a potential nationwide ban on TikTok.
While full-time influencers would be most directly impacted by the ban, many other users who rely on TikTok for business development and brand growth would also face significant challenges. For some, TikTok has become a crucial revenue stream that supports other aspects of their businesses. Stoller urges users to prepare for the potential disruption by backing up their content and exploring alternative platforms.
“I spoke with three of my students and all three of them independently are indicating that TikTok is not only for content extension, but it actually is a great way of doing business development,” Stoller adds.
TikTok is appealing the ban, arguing it violates First Amendment rights. If upheld, the ban could take effect on January 19, 2025.
