Boston University recently published an article featuring Richard Stuebi, Lecturer of Strategy and Innovation, discussing how Boston University’s Sustainable Business Club, founded by Questrom students Zach Sugerman and Ben Starr, is bridging the gap between business and sustainability.
Recognizing a lack of sustainability-focused business clubs, they founded the organization to educate students on ESG principles and the financial advantages of sustainable practices. With over 120 members, the club offers career workshops, guest speakers, and a signature Sustainable Business Case Competition. Under Vice President Shelly Shan’s leadership, outreach and professional development have expanded, while hands-on experiences like case studies, field trips, and industry collaborations equip students with the skills needed for careers in clean tech and ESG.
Stuebi has played a key role in advancing sustainable business education at Questrom. He introduced Shelly Shan to the Sustainable Energy minor and has actively supported research on energy accessibility.
By fostering an interdisciplinary approach, the Sustainable Business Club is preparing students across all majors for careers that integrate profitability with environmental responsibility.
