Microsoft recently published the 2022 Work Trend Index featuring insight from Constance Hadley, Lecturer of Management and Organizations, on the recent shift in work trends as a result of the pandemic.
This index examines the impact the hybrid work model has had on our understanding of how work fits into our lives, based on findings from a study of 31,000 people in 31 countries, along with an analysis of trillions of productivity signals from Microsoft 365 and labor trends from LinkedIn. The index, which outlines the five urgent trends business leaders need to know in 2022, includes ‘rebuilding social capital looks different in a hybrid world. This trend elaborates on how remote and hybrid work has affected our relationships.
Constance explains the impact a digital-first world has on employees and what can be done to prevent loneliness by stating, “Without a new approach, employee isolation and disconnection will continue to grow—regardless of whether people are back in the office. The post-pandemic transition provides the perfect opportunity to put the structures and rewards in place to facilitate a more connected workforce.”
