Newsbreak recently highlighted an article by Daily Free Press featuring Paul Carlile, Professor of Management and Information Systems and the Senior Associate Dean for Innovation, and his research examining the behavioral differences driving and dividing the world of business.
Paul was recently named to the Thinkers50 Radar Class of 2022, a London-based rank system for management ideas which highlights researchers from around the world. A key focus of his research is on “knowledge boundaries,” which are critical to decision making across multiple industries. In addition to bringing a creative perspective to Questrom, he created the hands-on Master of Science in Management Studies degree. Instead of learning in the classroom, students work alongside industry professionals to solve real-world problems. Paul emphasizes his belief that perseverance and humility is key to innovation, stating,
“One thing I highly preach when you’re moving into a novel space is you have to get comfortable with failure, I’d rather experiment than be right, and that’s an adage I live by.”
