One digital currency’s recent 99% drop in value has led to significant declines in others, including the more well-known Bitcoin and Ether. Despite a subsequent recovery, the total value of all digital currencies is still down by about 30% compared to the beginning of May. Although the crash revealed the risk and speculative nature of crypto, investors still see a future. When discussing the next chapter for crypto, Mark argued that it will almost certainly include more regulation. These changes will have major effects on blockchain companies, he claimed, stating,
“I think this is going to really separate the real projects versus those that just had a lot of marketing hype and no substance.”
