Boston Business Journal recently published an article featuring Fred Geyer, Lecturer of Marketing and Lisa Rohrer, Professor of the Practice of Management and Organizations, discussing how professors are moving past concerns about AI and actively incorporating it into classrooms to enhance learning.
Geyer and Rohrer leverage AI-powered “digital avatars” to create realistic business simulations, helping students refine their soft skills and receive tailored feedback. Although concerns about AI facilitating cheating remain, faculty believe that adapting assignments and thoughtfully integrating AI can effectively address these challenges.
“What AI can do is allow everyone to have a high-quality role-play, and get personalized feedback. Because the other thing you can’t do as the instructor is go in and listen to each one of those pairs, give them feedback, and help them understand what did and didn’t go well,” Rohrer adds.
Experts emphasize that integrating AI responsibly is essential for preparing students for a future where AI is integral to professional and educational environments.
