Time recently published an article featuring Oriane Georgeac, Assistant Professor of Management and Organizations, on navigating diversity policies within businesses.
Diversity within organizations has led to job seekers questioning whether or not the businesses are legitimate with their efforts, or if they’re seeking corporate profit or better stock performance. The way organizations navigate diversity is the key factor in workers’ decision to trust an organization.
Gerogeac adds that, “The way organizations talk about diversity tells you a little bit about whether it’s an absolute commitment,”
Though diversity can lead to better performance, without addressing and overcoming the challenges that come with it, it can often have a negative effect.
