ScrippsNews‘ TV Show, Main & Wall recently interviewed Jay Zagorsky, Clinical Associate Professor of Markets, Public Policy, and Law, on the stock market’s recent jump.
With the recent decline in the Dow Jones Industrial Average (Dow), many feared the future of the American economy. However, stocks have begun to soar again, rebounding from the recent slide. Market fluctuations are common, and usually not a reason to panic.
“The Federal Reserve has been saying for the many, many months we’re trying to slow the economy down and the economy is slowing down a little bit. Now the Federal Reserve says ‘Okay, we’ve been raising interest rates to slow the economy down and now we’re thinking about cutting interest to speed the economy up’,” Zagorsky adds.
