BU Today recently published an article highlighting the exceptional achievements of Simran Seth, a rising senior in the Questrom School of Business.
Seth’s impressive résumé includes internships with Tiffany & Co. and VF Corporation, and active participation in various extracurriculars, including the BU Buzz and the Finance & Investment Club.
Seth is also a co-founder of Project Meraki, a nonprofit aimed at empowering economically disadvantaged female artisans in rural India by teaching them crafting and business skills. This initiative, which emerged from the highly selective Women@Dior program, recently received top honors at a global women’s empowerment conference sponsored by UNESCO and Dior.
“Our artisans are based in rural towns in India, and many of them are financially dependent on the men in their lives,” Seth explains. “We’re trying to target the women in these communities and help them realize that their hobbies can actually be sources of income.”
Despite her busy schedule, Seth plans to expand Project Meraki’s impact and explore opportunities in venture capital, demonstrating her belief in embracing new opportunities and experiences.
