NBC Boston recently published an article where Clinical Associate Professor of Markets, Public Policy, and Law, Jay Zagorsky discussed The Lego Group’s headquarters recent move from Connecticut to Boston beginning in 2025.
With the Lego Group’s commitment to inspiring and developing builders, as well as being a family-friendly organization, Boston is thrilled to welcome the company to the city. The relocation to Boston will also lead to more accessible transportation means for Lego products, and a vibrant community. Though this move is exciting for many, there are also fears of new jobs and developments being inaccurately predicted.
Jay highlights this point, adding that, “If we hit an economic downturn, I could see them delaying that they don’t want to take as much commercial space in Boston because rents are very expensive in downtown Boston and Cambridge.”
Even with an uncertain economic future, Lego assured all 740 of their full-time employees that they will have a position at the new Boston location.
