Boston Business Journal recently published an article profiling Susan Fournier, Allen Questrom Professor and Dean Emeritus, highlighting her nearly two decades of leadership and the transformation of the school’s identity and reputation.
The story traces Fournier’s path from a career in industry and academia to becoming Questrom’s first woman dean and the architect of its major 2015 rebrand, supported by a $50 million gift from Allen and Kelli Questrom.
Under Fournier’s leadership, the school evolved from an institution without a distinct name or brand into a globally ranked business school with a strong national profile, expanded industry partnerships and a recognizable identity.
“My job as a leader is to build the strongest brand possible,” Fournier told the Boston Business Journal, emphasizing the importance of branding and differentiation to the school’s long-term success.
As she steps down, Fournier says she is ready to make room for new ideas and explore what comes next, while spending more time outdoors with her husband. “I’m trying to be open to what comes next,” she said.
