The National News recently published an article featuring Jay Zagorsky, Clinical Associate Professor of Markets, Public Policy, and Law, discussing what Space42, an AI-powered space technology company means for the global space industry.
The merger of Bayanat and Yahsat brings about a combined revenue of $700 million, potentially positioning it as a valuable publicly listed space company. However, some experts express concerns that current reports might be overestimating the future impact of space endeavors on Earth in the years ahead.
“First, the cost of sending people and equipment into outer space is plummeting. If costs come down faster than usage goes up, then the size of the space economy will not expand as rapidly as the World Economic Forum estimates,” Zagorsky adds.
If approved, the merger could help the UAE (The United Arab Emirates) scale space technology regionally.
