Peter Fasolo

Peter Fasolo

Peter Fasolo is currently Professor of the Practice and Director of the Human Resources Policy Institute at Boston University. He teaches and works with member companies at the Institute and academic researchers on topics such as human capital strategy, executive compensation, strategic M&A and crisis management.

Peter is the former Chief Human Resources Officer of Johnson & Johnson. Under Peter’s leadership, J&J was regularly recognized as one of the best places to work and one of the most admired companies in the world. During his 14 years as CHRO, Peter led the human capital strategy for the company. Over the course of his tenure, more than 80% of senior roles globally were filled with diverse, succession-planned leaders. Peter also expanded employee benefits by increasing paid time off for leaves such as military, parental, bereavement, volunteerism, and mental well-being. Peter oversaw two CEO successions and worked closely with the Board of Directors on shaping the compensation strategies for the company. Peter was the Chair of the Pension & Benefits Committee and a member of the Compensation Committee. Peter was involved in numerous acquisitions and divestitures and was instrumental in the separation of J&J’s Consumer unit into a publicly traded company (Kenvue). He served on the Board of Directors during the first year of the spin off.
